Dock & Deck Hammock Nets

Bringing the Sailing Vibe Home

Imagine stepping out onto your dock or backyard deck and instead of planks, you sink into a comfortable deck hammock net, suspended just above the water or lawn. The sun is warm, the breeze is light, and you’ve turned a simple waterfront into your very own mini-resort.

That’s the magic of deck netting. It’s durable, beautiful, and way more fun (and shareable) than a traditional lounge chair. Whether you’re on a lakefront, by the ocean, or want to elevate your urban backyard, a deck net instantly brings the sailing lifestyle home and will become the post popular place to hang out in your backyard!

What Is Deck Netting?

Deck netting (sometimes called a deck hammock net) is a strong, tensioned net installed flush with a dock, deck, or standalone frame. Think of it as your personal outdoor bed, a sharable hammock that is engineered to hold people safely for years of outdoor enjoyment.

At Sunrise Yacht Products, we’ve spent over 38 years engineering nets for sailing catamarans. Those same marine-grade materials are now used to create dock and deck hammocks that stand up to sun, salt, and serious family fun. The result: a stylish, breathable relaxation space that feels like floating in midair and will be the most used and longest lasting piece of outdoor furniture you own.

Why Choose a Deck Hammock Net?

1. Resort Comfort, Without Leaving Home

You don’t need to leave home for your new personal resort. Guests will instantly gravitate toward the net—it’s the ultimate conversation starter. I am not on the water, but personally have a swinging net frame in my backyard and it is easily the most used spot in the yard for both my wife & I to spend time together.

2. Safe and Family-Friendly

Our deck nets are designed to comfortably support several adults at once (up to 2,000 lbs depending on installation). Kids love them as a play area, and parents love that they’re engineered for safety, not just looks. When we have a small get-together everyone ends up spending time on our backyard net…it’s the most popular place in the yard!

3. All-Weather Durability

Unlike canvas hammocks or fabric swings that fade and fail, Sunrise nets are designed & built at our factory in St Pete, FL precisely for the purpose of being the most durable nets in the world. These are the same materials we use for multi-million dollar catamarans (Sunreef, Privilege, Seawind, etc) and world class resorts (Soneva Fushi, The Standard Maldives, and dozens more) so you know they’ll perform incredibly well for you! To back it up we offer what is by far The World’s Best Tensioned Warranty!

4. Custom Fit for Any Space

Square, rectangular, or irregular—our nets are custom-designed to fit your deck opening perfectly. Our net engineers can make your dream net design come to life or use one of our standard designs.

5. Spread Out – No Need to Feel Cramped In Your Own Yard

Unlike hammocks that develop a gravity well in the middle (have you every tried to spread out on a hammock with two people??) tensioned nets are designed to be shareable. You can cuddle if you want, but you don’t have to 😉. Kick back, spread your arms, and relax as you never have before.

Popular Ways to Use Deck Netting

  • Overwater Lounging: Installed in a cutout of your dock for a perfect sunbathing or day napping spot above the waterline.
  • Poolside Hammock Net: A modern way to relax by the pool while still catching some splash and having enough room to spread out.
  • Backyard Deck Net: Built into a raised deck to create a unique “floating lounge” area.
  • Rooftop Nets: In urban spaces, rooftop deck hammocks are becoming a design statement (think giant hammocks for city living).
  • Short Term Rentals: Outdoor living focused short term rentals are finding a lot of value in adding these unique amenities that give their guests space to properly enjoy the beautiful locations they’re located in.

And yes—dock and deck nets are just as fun at night. Add string lights, toss on a few outdoor pillows, and you’ve got the coziest stargazing platform imaginable.

Installation & Maintenance

  • Installation: Deck nets are tensioned into a frame (Click here for our guide to netting frame design) or dock cutout using stainless hardware and reinforced edges. You can also weld up your own daybed out of aluminum tubing or buy a pre-made Most homeowners hire a local carpenter or contractor, but DIYers can install with our step-by-step guide.
